BROTHERLY LOVE COVERS BUT NEVER CONDONES SIN! 8/29/12

BROTHERLY LOVE COVERS BUT NEVER CONDONES SIN! 8/29/12

The bible says in 1 Peter 4:8 (NIV)8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Too many of us have it all wrong!  To cover the sins of your brother or sister in Christ does not mean to cover up their mess and sweep it under the carpet. It does not mean to allow them to continue in sin without challenging them! If you love your brethren, you must do what it takes to correct them and get them back on the right track! Even though some think they’re too grown to listen to others. Only then must they be exposed for their own good and to remove the sin out of the camp!
Love covering the sins of the brethren means that; you are NOT going to get on the HELL-A-PHONE and tell everyone you can about their failure. You will not allow others to talk about them in your presence. You will not gossip to your friends and run their name through the mud! You must cover them in prayer and in godly counsel.

Too often when folks have repented and made things right with God, some trifling talebearer and discord sower is still talking about them. Remember, we reap what we sow, Galatians 6:7.
There is no way we can say that we love our btethren if we can find it so east to spread their faults, flaws and failures around, secretly or openly. That is not brotherly love!
