CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES WISELY! 11/28/12
CHALLENGE!!
CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES WISELY!!!!!
JUST LET GO OF ALL THE STUFF YOU ENGAGE UNNECESSARILY AND BRUSH THEM OFF, FOR GOD’S SAKE!!!
Don’t be so thin-skinned and overly sensitive that you open yourself up to unnecessary battles. The danger here is the presence of built up anger over things that should have no bearing on you! If someone accidently bumps into you and you escape injury, there is no reason to blaze a fire of defense upon the person in anger. Ecclesiastes 7:9 Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
Thinking too much of oneself, while undervaluing others, is perhaps the greatest culprit, inciting reckless and hotheadedness for no valid reason. Persons fitting this description, may spend half their life angry and defensive, binding themself to offensive reactions! This person spends much time plotting and scheming how to get back at others, creating enemies out of innocent incidents. PROVERBS 14:17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
The point is; we don’t think well when we’re angry. Those who are easily angered will not think straight and therefore subject themselves to consequences of the poor choices they make during their anger. Proverbs 14:16 A wise man fears the LORD and shuns evil, but a fool is hotheaded and reckless.
Not every action warrants a defensive reaction! Use wisdom to respond instead, which in many cases would be to do or say nothing! Proverbs 14:18 The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. Use wisdom! CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES WISELY!
