Dishonor and disobedience to leadership! June 2ND, 2013

Dishonor and disobedience to leadership!

June 19, 2013 at 4:31pm

The importance of obeying leadership, honoring your office and defeating the demon of rebellion!

SERIOUSLY! Have you ever thought about how serious it is to disobey and rebel against your leaders that God has put in authority over you in the church, your home and society as a whole? Do you not know that there are consequences to pay for every insubordinate act of stubbornness, defiance, disobedience and disregard of your leaders? Trust me, you cannot afford to fail to comply with God’s commands. Begin walking in obedience today, so you may be able to overt the curse and silence the demons of rebellion that are waiting to unleash utter destruction on you. Agape!

In 1 Corinthians 12:27-28, the Apostle Paul makes a declaration from God that no believer should fail to observe. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28 And *God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

In these 2 verses, God establishes a chain of commanding authority and leadership in the church, with the apostles as the general in charge. Assigned as your head by God, your leaders deserve the uttermost respect and regard, as they are the mouthpiece of God in the kingdom. These leaders are not in place to dominate and dictate, but to carry out the will of the father. Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief : for that is unprofitable for you.

We are called to submit to our leaders. It is not a request, it’s a command. Whatever the leader says, that’s what should be done. We all must listen to, obey, yield to, comply with, trust and have confidence in the leaders God has placed among us. I realize that not every leader was sent, some went on their own. This is why we all need discernment. Regardless of what many say, there are true God appointed leaders in the church today! Try the spirit and you will see.

One of the worst things you can do to a leader is to resist their leadership or be a hindrance to their assignment. People who are prune to fault finding and never contribute any solutions are among the greatest distractions and frustrations for a leader.

Failure to comply with leadership, puts one in the position of rebellion and disobedience against God, which opens the door to curses and the wrath of God.

When King Saul disobeyed God and blamed soldiers for his failure, God sent the prophet Samuel to strip him of his kingship and gave it to David instead, which resulted in his death. If you’re in rebellion, watch out, God is about to move you and it won’t be pretty.

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. You might as well call yourself a false prophet, because that’s what witchcraft and divination represents. Not showing up for a scheduled service without a valid excuse, failing to give offerings and pay tithes, conspiring against your leader, disrespecting your leader and failing to support the vision of the ministry, among other things, are all forms of rebellion. No wonder there are so many broke, busted, sick, confused, depressed and oppressed folks in church. They are walking in disobedience and rebellion against their leaders. I’m reminded of the line from the movie; The Color Purple. “Don’t do it Miss Sealy, it ain’t worth it!” It’s not worth it to put oneself in such a position. There is too much to lose!

Not even leaders are exempt from the penalties of disobeying God.

Check yourself and see if you are being insolent, arrogant and presumptuous. If so, you are in rebellion and are in grave danger of the wrath of God.  Take heed!!!

Agape!
