PRESERVING OUR MARRIAGES- DAY 5!
Even if it seems as though you’re living in hell with the enemy, put the word of God into action. Proverbs 25: 21If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: 22For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.
What am I saying? Don’t allow your current situation to stop you from being the husband that God has called you to be. You must still get up and go to work and bring home the money to care for your family. If you don’t have a house keeper, you must still take out the trash and do the yard work. You must still cook and clean when she can’t or even just because you want to help out. You must still be kind and courteous, regardless of the response you get. You must still find the good and focus on that, in spite of how much negativity you have to disregard in the process.
Pay her compliments and praise her for her strengths and success. Stop throwing her failures and flaws in her face! You wouldn’t like it if she did it to you, would you? Start buying her flowers and candy again for no reason, like you did before you got married.
Just man up and put away the childish behavior! 1 Corinthians 13: 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Never let God have to point His finger in your face! Never give up on your wife because Christ will never give up on you!
